As a Cooperative member, you know we work hard to serve your best interests and provide you with dependable electric service. But the benefits of membership don’t stop there! To help member-owners plan appropriately for healthcare needs in their golden years, Sam Houston Electric Cooperative has partnered with Cooperative Care Planning Services (CCPS) to offer no-obligation, long term planning insurance.

Growing older means changing healthcare needs. It’s difficult and disconcerting to think about the possibility, or even probability, that you or a close family member could be diagnosed with cancer, heart disease, diabetes or other disabling condition. But, chronic medical conditions that oftentimes develop later in life can wipe out a lifetime of savings, or place an unexpected burden on close family members. So, unless you’re very wealthy, long term care insurance may be the best way to prepare for costly healthcare assistance.

Planning for your healthcare now can save you a bundle later.
Participating in the CCPS Long Term Care Insurance program will protect your pocketbook and provide choices not offered by Medicare. Premium amounts vary according to your age and desired coverage. As an example, for as little as $26.31 per month, a 40-year-old can sign up for $102,200 worth of coverage. This amount will increase by 5 percent each year to account for inflation. A CCPS representative will work with you to tailor a plan to fit your needs.
