ELECTRIC SERVICE REQUEST FORM

Your Electric Service > Get Service for New Construction > Permit Requirements

Some cities and counties in our service area require that a permit number be issued before new electric service can be established. Residents and commercial customers in the City of Livingston, City of Onalaska, City of Shepherd, Liberty County, Montgomery County, Polk County, San Jacinto County and Walker County should contact the appropriate office(s) in order to obtain the required permit(s).

City of Livingston 936-327-4311
City of Onalaska 936-646-5376
City of Shepherd 936-628-3305
Liberty County Annex Department 936-336-4558
Montgomery County Permit Office 936-539-7836
Polk County Emergency Management 936-327-6826
San Jacinto Appraisal District (Permit Office) 936-653-4479
Walker County Planning and Development 936-436-4939

Residents in the City of Shepherd are required to obtain two separate permits: one for the City of Shepherd and one for San Jacinto County. Both permits are required to establish new service within the Shepherd city limits.

Additionally, residents applying new service in San Jacinto County must have a 911 address on file before a permit can be issued. You can obtain a 911 address by calling 1-800-256-5848.

If the city or county office determines that a permit number is not needed to establish electric service, they will issue a waiver permit number. In either case, applicants should contact a Member Services Representative with the appropriate permit or waiver permit information prior to establishing new service.
