Youth Education
As an electric provider, we at Sam Houston Electric Cooperative feel a strong obligation to educate our members and their children about how to work and play safely around electricity.
With the help of our Cooperative electric safety crusaders “Neon Leon” and “Lightning Liz,” children of all ages learn about the basics of how electricity works and the potential dangers it presents around us in our daily lives.
Sam Houston EC is also a proud supporter of children’s groups throughout our 10-county service area, including Boys & Girls Club, livestock shows, and the pursuit of higher education through our scholarship program.
Community Education
Sam Houston EC makes frequent presentations to area professional and civic groups.
Whether it’s educating the community about our plans and goals for the future or informing groups about the Co-op’s power restoration process during an outage, Sam Houston EC is out in the community making learning about electric topics both interesting and fun.
