Original post: At Sam Houston Electric Cooperative our goal is to provide a safe workplace for our employees and guests as we manage our day-to-day operations.
This morning there was an explosion at a chemical plant in Shepherd, Texas.
1 power line passes near the location of this incident, and it was shut off at the request of emergency management officials, impacting 405 locations.
Cooperative crews have inspected the section of line, and some work is needed to replace a power pole to ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electricity. Once this work is complete, power will be restored to all members in this area. Members can follow our outage map for updated information.
