Sam Houston Electric Cooperative is conducting an inventory of poles attachments on our system to confirm which companies have attached cable, telephone or internet services to the Co-op’s power poles.
“Our poles are the infrastructure backbone in our area for more than just electricity,” Chief Engineer Joel Colston, P.E. said. “Many companies attach to our poles across nearly 6,000 square miles. This audit will help verify which poles have attachments, and ensure there are no unauthorized attachments.”
TechServ Consulting and Training is the contractor that will complete the inventory. Their representatives may need access to property near and around power poles. Their vehicles will have signs identifying them as Sam Houston EC contractors.
The audit will begin on May 29, and is anticipated to end in October 2025. Consumer-members will receive a phone call before contractors arrive in their area.
“This is a good opportunity to update your contact information with the Cooperative,” Chief Communications Officer Rachel Hawkins said. “Members can check the mobile app or login to their mySamHouston account to ensure their phone number is listed on the account contact information.”
