Sam Houston Electric Cooperative unveiled a new website on November 26, and it offers more than just a refresh–the new website provides easier navigation and better information for the Co-op’s 70,000 consumer-members.
“The first thing viewers will notice is the decidedly better look to the site but that was not the driving force behind the update,” said Chief Communications Officer Rachel Hawkins. “The site now offers improved accessibility for our member-owners.”
Visitors will experience improved site navigation with easier-to-see buttons. Users can adjust the font size on each page or translate the information into many languages at the click of a button. The information on the site was also streamlined to reduce redundant pages.
Co-op consumer-members can still access many account resources using mySamHouston online tools with their current username and password.
Sam Houston EC partnered with Pioneer Utility Resources’ Powerful Websites for the project.
“They have built many other cooperatives' websites across the nation and understand our unique business,” said Will Holder, communications specialist who helped lead the project. “They brought that knowledge and helped us immensely throughout the project.”
Members can also be on the lookout for an updated outage map before the new year.
