Sam Houston Electric Cooperative is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Francine in the Gulf of Mexico and preparing for potential storm impacts. Sam Houston EC encourages our consumer-members to follow local forecasts for the latest information.
“Sam Houston EC employees are preparing our system for any potential impacts and we encourage our consumer members to make their own storm preparations,” Chief Communications Officer Rachel Hawkins said. “Sam Houston EC has been working for several days to secure additional resources and conduct safety discussions to prepare for any potential impacts from Tropical Storm Francine.”
Consumer-members should follow local news outlets, emergency management officials, and the National Weather Service for updated information about the storm and expected impacts to East Texas. “The Co-op encourage members to visit Ready.gov's Hurricanes website to find important information on how to prepare their home and family,” Hawkins said.
