Sam Houston Electric Cooperative hosted an open house for the Livingston headquarters building on Thursday, June 21, 2012.
The open house began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held by the Livingston-Polk County Chamber of Commerce and continued with building tours led by Cooperative employees.
The state-of-the-art building, which was built to withstand a category 3 hurricane, received many compliments for its spacious design, efficient layout, advanced dispatching center, and employee wellness program.
“We are extremely fortunate to have this new facility,” Kyle Kuntz, Sam Houston EC CEO, said. “Our old headquarters building had outlived its useful life, this facility will allow us to continue serving our growing membership in a more efficient workspace.”
In addition to the Sam Houston EC directors, employees, families, and friends, other attendees included: Craig McNair, Liberty County Judge; Jacques Blanchette, Tyler County Judge; Danny Pierce, Walker County Judge and Mid-South Synergy Electric Cooperative Board Member; Kenneth Hammack, Polk County Sheriff; Larry Pitts, Polk County Emergency Operations Coordinate; Debbie Robinson, Wood County EC CEO; Richard McLeon, Rusk County CEO; Shawn Dunn, from State Representative James White’s office.
