Update at 11:00 a.m.: Sam Houston EC crews have made significant progress this morning, restoring power to an additional 2,000 locations. Just over 4,600 locations remain without service. Crews are working to restore service, and the outage map shows their progress: https://outage.samhouston.net/maps/OutageWebMap/.
A significant portion of the remaining outages in Tyler County and north Polk County are due to outages in the transmission system that serves our area. Crews are patrolling the areas that are out due to transmission to expedite any repairs needed. We ask all members to stay safe and report any down lines to 888-444-1207.
6:30 a.m.: A line of severe thunderstorms moved across our area last night, causing more than 13,000 outages. Sam Houston EC crews are working across the system, and have already restored service to 6,600 members.
