Chuck Turner Named to Sam Houston Electric Cooperative Board

Chuck Turner has been named to the Sam Houston Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. Mr. Turner represents District 4, which includes Hardin and Liberty Counties.

“We are very pleased to welcome Chuck Turner to the Sam Houston EC Board,” said Sam Houston Electric Cooperative Board president Ernie Miles. “He is very active and respected in Hardin County, and we believe he exemplifies the cooperative spirit and values that are so important to our members and to this organization.”

At the Annual Meeting of Members on Nov. 12, 2013, Turner personally greeted many of the 1,300 Cooperative members in attendance. Turner, who owns and operates the Honey Island General Store, said, “I have always admired how Sam Houston Electric Cooperative serves its members, and I am proud to represent Hardin and Liberty Counties.”

An 11-member Board of Directors, elected from five districts, represents the Cooperative membership. District 1 includes Angelina, Polk and Trinity Counties. District 2 includes San Jacinto County. District 3 covers Tyler and Jasper Counties. District 4 includes Hardin and Liberty Counties, while District 5 includes Montgomery and Walker Counties.
