Enard Earns Professional Engineer Certification

One of Texas’ newest recipients of the professional engineer certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers is Sam Houston Electric Cooperative’s very own R.J. Enard.

Enard has successfully completed a series of exams, including the third and final exam required for his certification, which he took last October.

Enard passed his first exam in the process, the fundamentals of engineering exam (FE), in 2008. Applicants must also complete an ethics exam and solicit references from three currently licensed professional engineers.

After meeting education and experience requirements, as well as passing the first two exams, applicants must get approval from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers to take the final PE exam.

Sam Houston EC engineers Kabe Murphy, Ryan Brown and Joel Colston all passed their FE exams last spring and will continue to work towards their PE certifications as well.

Enard has been with Sam Houston EC since 2004, where he started as a communications specialist, until transfering to the engineering department in 2008. He joins Sam Houston EC CEO Kyle J. Kuntz and engineering supervisor Doug Kouba, who also hold their PE certification.
