Of the 2,100 currently without power, 1,300 are in the Spurger/Fred area and are being affected by the transformer change-out that is currently taking place. The crane that was used to lift the transformer and put it on the trailer broke down. The transformer, however, was loaded, transported, and is now on site.
Another crane has been found and is on its way to the location and will set the transformer in place. In the meantime, prep work is progressing well. Due to the crane delay, however, restoration will probably be completed by 10:00 p.m. We are hopeful that it is back in service before then, but it will not be completed by the 5:00 p.m. estimate that was provided earlier today.
Most of the remaining 800 that are out at this time are not accessible due to flooded roads or evacuation orders. We will monitor those flooded areas and will restore power when it is safe to do so. Crews are continuing to work through the weekend if necessary until power is restored.
