As of 8 p.m., power has been restored to 8,000 Sam Houston Electric Cooperative members. Just under 1,300 members are currently without power.
Crews have worked tirelessly to restore power as quickly and safely as possible to our members. However, some areas of our service territory are inaccessible due to flooded roads, particularly in San Jacinto and Montgomery Counties. We’ll continue to closely monitor these areas for conditions to improve.
With the current flooding and forecasted rain over the next few days, some areas may be inaccesssible for several days.
We ask that all members continue to exercise extreme caution and treat all power lines as energized. Report downed lines to the Co-op on our Outage Hotline at 888-444-1207.
Heed warnings from local authorities and help us keep safety a top priority. If you must travel, check drivetexas.org, for road closures and hazard information.
If you choose to use a generator, please connect and operate it safety. Click here for tips on safe generator operation.
Sam Houston EC crews will continue working to restore power, and additional contractor crews are being brought in to assist.
