Hurricane Harvey Update: Thursday, August 31, 10:00 a.m.

Sam Houston EC line technicians, and visiting crews that are here assisting, will be restoring power today in those areas they are able to access. Weather is favorable to make good progress, although flooding will prevent crews from accessing some areas in Tyler and Hardin Counties. There are approximately 1,600 members currently that are inaccessible.

Sour Lake is flooded badly. We will monitor the flooding and roads closely, but crews may not be able to access that area today. South of Kountze along FM 326 is flooded as well.

Crews are going down the west side and the east side of the Trinity River today, restoring power to those locations who can safely receive power.

The Fred and Spurger areas of Tyler County may see some progress today, assuming damaged transmission service in that area is repaired.

Crews are working on other outages throughout the system as well.

Thank you to our members for your patience, and to all those who have provided food and other assistance to our crews as they have worked through these very challenging last few days.
