Mail Disruption Due to Tropical Storm Imelda

Mail Disruption Due to Tropical Storm Imelda

While Sam Houston Electric Cooperative crews have restored power to our consumer-members following incredible rain and flooding, Tropical Storm Imelda’s wrath is still being felt in East Texas.

Torrential rains caused the roof of a mail sorting facility in north Houston to collapse on Thurs., Sept. 19. Thankfully, according to the United States Postal Service, all of their employees are safe, as is the mail in the facility.

Mail in our part of East Texas is sorted at this facility, so there may be delays in sending or receiving letters and other correspondence.

Cooperative members can check the status of their bill, pay their bill, or verify their payment has been received at any time using the mySamHouston app or by logging on to the mySamHouston portal.

Members can also call 800-458-0381 and follow the automated prompts to check or pay their bill.

Check the USPS website for official updates on post office closures and recovery.
