Operation Round Up Grants Available

The first Operation Round Up grant distribution cycle will open on September 1, 2015.

“This would not have been possible without the support of our members,” said Rachel Frey, Sam Houston Electric Cooperative communications specialist. “Operation Round Up is a way for Sam Houston Electric Cooperative to partner with our members to improve the quality of life in our service area. The support we have received from our members shows that they believe this program will do great things in our communities.”

Members can join Operation Round Up at any time. Each month, participating members’ bills are rounded up to the next whole dollar. The average donation is 50 cents per month or $6 per year. Joining is as simple as clicking here, or calling the Cooperative at 800-458-0381.

To celebrate this exciting program, the Sam Houston Electric Cooperative Charitable Foundation Board of Directors has elected to hold a special first grant cycle lasting one month and closing on September 30. Following this cycle, grants will be considered on a quarterly basis. Future deadlines will be posted on www.samhouston.net.

Nonprofit organizations should review the grant guidelines before filling out the grant application. For more information, contact Sam Houston Electric Cooperative at 800-458-0381.

The Sam Houston Electric Cooperative Charitable Foundation is the non-profit organization that manages the Operation Round Up program. The Foundation’s Board of Directors has one representative for each of the five Sam Houston EC districts, and each Board member is a member of the Cooperative. The Board will review all grant applications.
