Sam Houston Electric Cooperative members expressed extreme satisfaction with the Cooperative and its employees in the third quarter of 2023.
Sam Houston EC received the highest score across all electric cooperatives with a 93, compared to the average score of 74 for co-ops, 72 for investor-owned utilities and 71 for municipal utilities.
“Our ACSI scores are proof that our membership recognizes and appreciates the effort hard work that Sam Houston EC employees put forth on their behalf,” said Chief Executive Officer Doug Turk. “The work that we do to provide safe and reliable service to our membership is what matters the most.”
The ACSI is the only national cross-industry measure of customer satisfaction in the United States. Companies from every business sector measure their performance via ACSI, and more than 600 electric cooperatives utilize ACSI.
To gauge Sam Houston EC member satisfaction in 2023, representatives from SkyBase7 surveyed a randomly selected group of Co-op members each month over the phone.
The researchers asked four questions for the ACSI survey, with responses ranging on a scale from zero to 10:
