Sam Houston Electric Cooperative members expressed extreme satisfaction with the Cooperative and its employees in the second quarter of 2024.
Sam Houston EC earned an American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI®) score of 93 on a 100-point scale from a survey of our members rating their satisfaction with us as an energy utility, making it the top score among all cooperatives participating in measurement for Touchstone Energy® in the second quarter of 2024.[1] This score is also higher than the average score of 78 for cooperative utilities, 74 for investor-owned utilities and 75 for municipal utilities, per the 2024 ACSI Energy Utility Study.
"This score lets us know that our membership appreciates and values what we do every day,” said Chief Executive Officer Doug Turk. “It lets us know that the efforts that we put forth are put forth in the right areas; that they help to better the lives of our membership and that our members see and appreciate that."
The ACSI is the only national cross-industry measure of customer satisfaction in the United States. Each year, the ACSI uses data from interviews with about 200,000 customers as inputs to an econometric model for analyzing customer satisfaction with approximately 400 companies in roughly 40 industries and 10 economic sectors.
To gauge Sam Houston EC member satisfaction in 2024, representatives from SkyBase7 surveyed a randomly selected group of Co-op members each month over the phone.
The researchers asked four questions for the ACSI survey, with responses ranging on a scale from one to 10.
