Contractor crews from North Houston Pole Line are working on a service improvement project on the feeder that serves the Blanchard/Scenic Loop area in Polk County near Lake Livingston.

Crews will be working for the next few months to install new power lines that will increase the capacity and quality of service in the area. The contractors will be working with the lines energized to minimize the impact on our consumer-members.

However, working around electricity can be dangerous. In order to help this crew work as safely as possible, the flow of electricity to this area will stop immediately if any disturbance is detected by safety sensors. Typically, sensors automatically cycle the flow of electricity on and off to try to resolve issues such as tree limbs falling on a line.

Members may experience more service interruptions than normal during this improvement project. However, the majority of any outages that may occur will be very brief, and they will be during the workday. This protective measure will be in place only while the crews are actively working on the lines.

Sam Houston EC still encourages members to report any service interruption using the mySamHouston mobile app, or by calling 888-444-1207.

The Cooperative appreciates our member-consumers' patience during this improvement project. Any power outage is frustrating and inconvenient, but we appreciate our members' partnership in ensuring that Sam Houston EC employees and contractors work in a safe environment.
