Thomson Recognized for 20 Years as Sam Houston EC Board President

At the October meeting of Sam Houston Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors, Truitt Thomson passed the gavel to W.E. “Ernie” Miles, Board member from the Cooperative’s District 5, which includes Montgomery and Walker Counties.

Thomson, who has served on the Sam Houston EC Board since 1985, has been president for the past 20 years. He will continue serving as a member of the Cooperative’s Board of Directors. He will also remain on the board of East Texas Electric Cooperative, generation and transmission provider for the 10 electric distribution cooperatives in East Texas.

Said incoming president Miles, “Truitt has distinguished himself in his leadership of this organization. He has done a yeoman’s job of representing the 52,000 members of Sam Houston Electric Cooperative, and he has always looked out for the best interests of the people we serve.”
