Update:

The voltage conversion project near Cut and Shoot has been completed. We appreciate the patience of our members while the upgrades were completed. We also commend our employees for a job completed safely and on-schedule!

After the conversion was completed, some members in the area were affected by a weather-related outage that has now been restored. Due to the rain and thunderstorms currently in the area, we encourage members to report any outages to 888-444-1207.



To better serve our consumer-members, a system improvement project is scheduled for Sept. 12-14 near Cut and Shoot, Texas. The map shows the impacted areas. Members will receive a call with the exact times and dates their service will be affected. Please make sure that your number is updated with Sam Houston EC.

To ensure the safety of employees, power will be off while crews perform their work, approximately 8 a.m. - noon. If anyone at your location has special needs that requires constant electricity, please plan accordingly. If you have any questions, please call us at 800-458-0381.

Please remember to move over or slow down when you are passing utility trucks. This allows our linemen and contractors to work as safely as possible.

Also, don't forget that you should never connect a generator directly to your home’s wiring unless your home has been wired for generator use. This can cause backfeeding along power lines and electrocute anyone coming in contact with them, including lineworkers making repairs. Have a licensed electrician install the equipment necessary to safely connect emergency generators to your home.
